Door County Civility Project

The Door County Civility Project is this month’s feature, non-profit organization. The Door County Civility Project focuses on how to better not only our lives, but bettering others around you by building a stronger community together. They are expressing their intention and aspiration to be civil, but still realizing that we are still human!

Today and everyday, they challenge us to practice these skills:

  • Pay Attention, listen to those around you and be aware of them
  • Listen Closely, try to understand others points of view
  • Be Inclusive, be open to welcoming everyone
  • Don’t Gossip, remind others how important this is
  • Show Respect, honor others opinions
  • Be Agreeable, don’t argue just to argue
  • Apologize Sincerely, admit when you are wrong and apologize accordingly
  • Give Constructive Comments, Suggestions, & Feedback, don’t attack anyone, but rather give them an option to help them
  • Accept Responsibility, accept that everyone is human and no one is right ALL of the time

“It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it”
